Jordanian Expatriates’ Remittances Rise to $2.3 Billion in First Eight Months of 2024


AMMAN: Remittances from Jordanian expatriates saw a 3.5% increase, totaling $2.343 billion during the first eight months of 2024, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

According to Jordan News Agency, the latest figures from the CBJ indicate a notable increase in the remittances compared to $2.264 billion recorded during the same period the previous year. The rise in remittances reflects the economic contributions of Jordanians living abroad, which continue to play a significant role in the nation’s economy.

The Central Bank of Jordan monitors and reports on the flow of remittances, which are critical for the economic stability of many families and contribute significantly to the national GDP. The consistent increase in these remittances highlights the strengthening economic ties between Jordanian expatriates and their home country.
