Jordanian Tomato Shipments Enter Egyptian Market to Mitigate Surplus

Amman: Eight shipments of tomatoes from Jordan entered the Egyptian market on Thursday, marking a significant step in addressing Jordan's surplus agricultural production, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. According to Jordan News Agency, Lawrence Majali, the media spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, announced that these shipments are part of a broader strategy to open new markets for Jordan's excess agricultural crops. Majali emphasized that the ministry is focused on sustaining export operations and smoothing the process of consignment. There is also ongoing communication with tomato concentrate factories to ensure they can process the surplus production, underscoring the government's commitment to supporting the tomato sector. This initiative not only helps in managing the surplus stock of tomatoes in Jordan but also strengthens trade relations with Egypt, providing a new destination for Jordanian agricultural products.
