The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced July 12 is the deadline to tender resignations for candidates wishing to run in the Kingdom's next parliamentary elections. In a statement Thursday, the IEC said resignations must be submitted at least 60 days ahead of the polling day scheduled for September 10. The IEC's announcement is based on the provisions of Paragraph (A) of Article (11) of the Election Law and its amendment No. (4) of 2022, the statement said. Under the previous law, all ministers, senators, public and judicial workers, employees of Arab, regional and international bodies, Mayor of Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), heads and members of the provincial and municipal councils, and other high-profile officials must submit their resignations to become eligible to compete in the upcoming parliamentary Source: Jordan News Agency
