Beirut: Former Progressive Socialist Party Chief Walid Jumblatt has made contact with Catholic Media Center Director, Monsignor Abdo Abou Kasm, to express condemnation over the attacks against Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jumblatt underscored the importance of respecting all religious and spiritual leaders and avoiding offensive language in political and media criticism. He highlighted the potential risks of such rhetoric in exacerbating tensions and divisions that could lead to sectarian conflict.
Jumblatt further criticized certain media outlets for incitement, raising concerns regarding the National Media Council's effectiveness in addressing inflammatory discourse and preventing sectarian mobilization.
