Beirut: Former Progressive Socialist Party Chief Walid Jumblatt contacted Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal to offer his condolences over the deaths of First Lieutenant Mohammad Ismail and First Adjutant Rifaat al-Tuaimi. The officers were killed when an Israeli drone exploded during an inspection in the town of Naqoura.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jumblatt praised General Heikal's speech, which emphasized the army's commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities. Heikal assured that the army would take the necessary steps to ensure the success of its mission while maintaining civil peace and internal stability in the country.
