Beirut: Justice Minister Adel Nassar on Monday condemned the massacre committed by the Israeli army in Bint Jbeil, stressing that "this crime is categorically rejected." Speaking to Al-Jadeed TV, he underlined that the decision to restrict arms is "not aimed at any single Lebanese faction, but serves all citizens and seeks to build a fully sovereign state." He added that "any obstruction may affect timing, but the decision is final and will be implemented," noting that the military will provide monthly progress reports to the government.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, on the 'Rhosus' ship file, Nassar said he will deliver it to the Foreign Ministry on Monday for diplomatic transfer to Bulgaria. Regarding electoral law, he acknowledged differences with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, stating he would have preferred legislation granting expatriates the right to vote for all 128 MPs.
Nassar further disclosed that a coordinated meeting will be held in Beirut with stakeholders to address the file of Syrian detainees within legal frameworks. On the Hannibal Gaddafi case, he clarified that the matter is being pursued by the judicial investigator and falls outside his mandate.
