Beirut: Head of the 'Karamah Movement' MP Faisal Karami on Tuesday met with Australian Ambassador to Lebanon Andrew Barnes at the residence of the late Prime Minister Omar Karami in Beirut, accompanied by Deputy Ambassador Alice Kalsal and Political Affairs Secretary Ban Craig. Deputy Party Head Othman Majzoub and Political Advisor Alaa Jalilati also attended the meeting.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions focused on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Lebanese-Australian relations, particularly for the large Lebanese diaspora in Australia. Karami stressed the necessity of holding parliamentary elections within their constitutional timeframe to ensure the election of a new parliament capable of advancing the needed economic and political reforms.
