Kataeb Party Commends Electoral Process, Vows Exemplary Local Governance

Beirut: The Kataeb's Political Bureau convened its weekly meeting under the leadership of party head Samy Gemayel. During the meeting, discussions focused on the conduct and outcomes of the municipal elections, leading to a statement from the bureau.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Political Bureau applauded the successful execution of municipal and mukhtar elections, which had been delayed for several years. The elections provided residents of Mount Lebanon Governorate the chance to select their local representatives, reflecting a desire for progress and confidence in the candidates supported by the Kataeb Party. The elections were marked by transparency, integrity, and civic engagement.

The Party expressed gratitude to the authorities for ensuring the elections were conducted safely and properly, and extended congratulations to the winners in various towns and villages. It hopes this achievement will lead to effective municipal governance and the development of towns and cities towards modernity and sustainable growth.

The Kataeb Party reiterated its dedication to exemplary local governance, viewing it as essential for implementing decentralization, which is considered an urgent national priority.

Additionally, the Political Bureau acknowledged the recent recommendations from the Higher Defense Council, noting their alignment with government decisions. It praised the steps taken to enhance public security and stressed that these measures should be applied uniformly across Lebanon. The Party emphasized that only by ensuring weapons are controlled by the Lebanese Army and legitimate security forces can the national vision be realized.
