Kuwait Launches National Debate Project to Foster Critical Thinking and Research Skills in Youth

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has initiated a significant project titled "Kuwait Debate" aimed at enhancing critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific research among young individuals across various educational stages. This initiative, led by the Youth Public Authority (YPA), collaborates with multiple educational and civic organizations to promote effective communication and debate skills among the youth. According to Kuwait News Agency, Acting Deputy General Director of Youth Public Authority, Abdullah Al-Adwani, announced the launch of the "Kuwait Debate" project in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Kuwait University, and the Kuwaiti Debate Club from Civil Society. Al-Adwani emphasized the project's inclusive approach, targeting school and university students as well as graduates. He highlighted the exceptional cooperation with these institutions as pivotal for the project's success. Dr. Nawal Al-Kanderi, Debate Supervisor at Kuwait University, stated that the initiative would underscore the be nefits of teamwork and is expected to enhance participation in future stages. Kuwait University plans to hold competitions across its 16 colleges, selecting top speakers to represent at national and international levels. Bader Al-Shatti, a representative from the Ministry of Education, described this collaboration as a strategic investment in the youth, aiming to cultivate a generation capable of contributing positively to society and national development. Fahad Al-Subaie, President of the Kuwait National Debate Team, mentioned the technical role of his team in training students and organizing the competitions. He praised the initiative for improving dialogue and persuasion skills among young debaters, motivating them to excel in upcoming national debate championships.
