Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) of Kuwait has successfully intercepted a significant drug smuggling attempt, arresting three individuals in possession of a substantial quantity of narcotics estimated to be worth about 2.5 million Kuwaiti Dinars.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the arrests were made after the General Administration for Drug Control received crucial information about the smuggling operation. In a coordinated effort with the General Department of Coast Guard, authorities detected a boat via an advanced radar system. During the operation, three suspects were apprehended after they showed strong resistance while attempting to deliver the narcotics.
Further investigation revealed the enormity of the haul, which included approximately 308 kilograms of hashish, one million pills of Lyrica, and 500,000 Captagon pills. This operation is a part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Interior to curb the menace of drug trafficking and maintain national security.
The Ministry emphasized its
dedication to vigilant monitoring and action against any attempts to smuggle or trade narcotics within the country. It also called upon the public to aid in these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in combating such illegal activities.
