MOSCOW: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov convened in Moscow on Monday to discuss pressing regional and international issues. The meeting, part of Al-Yahya's official visit to Russia, focused on escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine and Lebanon, and explored pathways to cease hostilities and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those affected. According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions between the ministers also addressed the ramifications of the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court's decision on the Khor Abdullah Agreement and the completion of the maritime border demarcation between Kuwait and Iraq beyond mark No. 162. The meeting further included talks on resolving the ongoing Kuwaiti-Iranian maritime border issues. The Syrian crisis was another focal point of the talks, with both sides reviewing international efforts to find a political resolution to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Al-Yahya extended greetings from Kuwa iti leadership, including His Highness the Amir, the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister, to Russian President Vladimir Putin and acknowledged the historical and strategic partnership between Kuwait and Russia. Lavrov reciprocated with greetings to the Kuwaiti leadership and emphasized the enduring bilateral ties between the nations. The ministers also explored opportunities to enhance bilateral relations further, aiming to foster development and achieve mutual objectives.
