Launch of Economic Feasibility Study for Tobacco Control in Lebanon

Beirut: Under the patronage and attendance of the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasser Al-Din, a ceremony will be held to launch the "Economic Feasibility Study for Investment in Tobacco Control in Lebanon" at the Movempick Hotel. The event is organized at the invitation of the World Health Organization and the United Nations Development Program. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ceremony is part of a series of significant events scheduled for the day. At 10:30, the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is set to visit Prime Minister Judge Nawaf Salam. This visit highlights the ongoing diplomatic engagements within the country's legislative framework. At 11:00, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri will chair a joint session involving several parliamentary committees. The session will focus on studying six law proposals on its agenda. The committees participating include Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, National Defense, Interior and Municipalities, Public Health, Labor and Social Affairs, National Economy, Trade, Industry, Planning, and Information Technology. Later, at 13:00, Dr. Antoine Maalouf, President and Founder of the IRCAD-Lebanon Academy for Training Physicians in Robotic Surgery, will hold a press conference at the Press Syndicate. During this conference, Dr. Maalouf will announce the performance of a robotic surgery that will be broadcast live on Wednesday, March 26, from Lebanon to France and beyond. This groundbreaking event will be sponsored by President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun.
