Lebanese Army Arrests Six Over Attack on UNIFIL Patrol in South Lebanon

Beirut: The Lebanese Army has apprehended six individuals in connection with an attack on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) patrol. The incident occurred on the Tayri, Bint Jbeil road during the night of December 3-4, 2025, damaging a UNIFIL vehicle but causing no injuries to personnel.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the attack prompted the Lebanese Army's Directorate of Intelligence to swiftly investigate, leading to the arrests. The Army Command emphasized the seriousness of any aggression against UNIFIL, underscoring its critical role in maintaining stability in the region south of the Litani River. The army also highlighted its close coordination with UNIFIL and their joint commitment to restoring peace.

Interrogations of the arrested individuals are underway under the judiciary's supervision.
