Lebanese Parties Condemn Attack on UNIFIL

Beirut: Lebanese parties condemned the events that took place last night, when a UNIFIL officer was injured after one of its vehicles caught fire on Friday on the Beirut airport road.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Progressive Socialist Party described the recent events in the country as "unacceptable and unjustified acts". They viewed the attack on UNIFIL forces as coinciding with the Israeli occupation's attacks on these forces, which aim to prevent them from performing their role alongside the Lebanese army in implementing international resolution 1701 and exposing the enemy's attacks and violations.

The Amal Movement announced that the attack on UNIFIL is an "attack on southern Lebanon", further stating that blocking roads anywhere is a "stab in civil peace".

The Future Movement also issued a statement, considering the attack on UNIFIL unacceptable by all standards and posing a threat to Lebanon's relationship with the international community.

The Lebanese Forces, in turn, condemned the attack on UNIFIL, emphasizing that "there is no stability without accountability."
