Beirut: Lebanese Red Cross ambulance teams, supported by an army patrol, on Monday carried out a high-risk humanitarian operation to evacuate 11 Syrian workers wounded in an Israeli drone strike on the outskirts of Yahmar al-Shaqif.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the operation required coordination with the Mechanism committee and time to secure approval before the rescue could proceed. The workers were targeted while unloading a shipment of chickens from a pickup truck at a farm. Three managed to crawl away from the area, while the remaining 11 sustained various injuries and remained on the ground for more than five hours before being evacuated by the Red Cross and the Lebanese Army to Najda Shaabiya Hospital in Nabatieh.
