Beirut: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday expressed condolences to the government and people of Indonesia following the death of an Indonesian peacekeeper serving with United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, and wished a swift recovery to the wounded.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ministry praised the dedication of Indonesian peacekeepers and condemned the March 29 attack near Adshit al-Qusayr, calling for full respect of UNIFIL's mandate and the safety of its personnel.
It stressed that attacks on UN forces are unacceptable and undermine peace efforts, reaffirming Lebanon's commitment to cooperation with UNIFIL and the international community to ensure accountability and prevent further escalation.
