Rabat: French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday wrapped up a three-day state visit to Morocco during which the two countries signed a number of agreements valued at more than USD ten billion. Macron arrived in the country on Monday and held talks with the Moroccan King VI, culminating in a declaration establishing "an extraordinary and solid partnership" between Rabat and Paris. According to Kuwait News Agency, the two leaders oversaw the signing of up to 22 agreements covering a wide range of sectors, including investments in railways, energy, green hydrogen, aviation industry, education, and immigration. These agreements signify a strengthening of bilateral ties and a commitment to collaborative growth and development. During his visit, President Macron addressed the Moroccan parliament, reiterating France's support for Morocco's sovereignty over the desert. He promised to advocate for this cause in international forums and pledged further investments in the region, highlighting the importance of mut ual cooperation. Macron's visit marks a significant reconciliation between France and Morocco, following a period of strained relations over the past three years. The visit underscores the importance Rabat places on international stances toward the desert issue as a key determinant in bilateral relations.
