Medical Relief Society Urges International Intervention Amid Gaza Hospital Bombings

Ramallah: The Palestinian Medical Relief Society has issued an urgent plea for international intervention following the repeated bombing of hospitals in northern Gaza, labeling the acts as war crimes. The affected hospitals, including Indonesian, Al-Awda, and Kamal Adwan, have endured severe shelling and a tight siege for the past two weeks, endangering the lives of patients, medical staff, and the injured. According to Maan News Agency, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, the head of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, emphasized the grave dangers posed by the continued targeting of healthcare facilities. The recent escalation has already resulted in the deaths of two patients at the Indonesian hospital. Dr. Barghouti highlighted the risk of a repeat of previous incidents in Gaza hospitals, which have seen their facilities destroyed, operations raided, and medical professionals arrested. Dr. Barghouti described the ongoing attacks as a violation of international law, calling them war crimes that jeopardize the safe ty of patients and the injured. He urged for swift international action to provide necessary protection and ensure the delivery of critical medical supplies to the affected areas, emphasizing the need for serious and responsible efforts to safeguard healthcare services in the region.
