Menassa Engages in Key Discussions on National Affairs with MP Karam and IDAL Chairman

Beirut: Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, on Tuesday welcomed MP Fadi Karam to his office in Yarzeh. The discussions centered on the latest political and security developments, alongside national and developmental issues of mutual interest.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Minister also met with Dr. Majed Mneinmeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL). This meeting emphasized the significance of coordination among relevant authorities concerning infrastructure and logistics projects, highlighting their role in bolstering essential facilities and enhancing national resilience.

A statement from IDAL outlined that the meeting addressed the general situation in Lebanon and its impact on the investment climate, especially given the challenges the country faces. There is an urgent need to rejuvenate investment momentum and confidence in the national economy.

Both parties underscored the importance of security stability as a critical factor for attracting local and foreign investments and bolstering investors' confidence in Lebanon. The discussions also aimed at portraying Lebanon as a secure investment destination capable of drawing capital. This is in line with "IDAL's" efforts to promote investment, improve the business environment, and thus stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities, and support the country's economic recovery process.

Minister Menassa reiterated the Lebanese state's and its security and military institutions' commitment to maintaining stability and security throughout all Lebanese regions. He stressed that such stability is vital for safeguarding existing investments and encouraging investors to expand their businesses and initiate new projects, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the national economy and the restoration of confidence.
