Beirut: Prime Minister Najib Mikati has taken significant steps in response to the kidnapping of Lebanese citizen Imad Amhaz in the Batroun area. In a series of actions this evening, Mikati reached out to Army Chief, General Joseph Aoun, who provided updates on the ongoing investigations concerning the incident. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Mikati also communicated with the UNIFIL command. The command confirmed that it is actively conducting investigations into the case and is working in coordination with the army to address the situation. In addition, the Prime Minister instructed the Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, to file an urgent complaint with the UN Security Council regarding the kidnapping. Mikati emphasized the importance of speeding up the investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to ensure appropriate measures are taken.
