Amman: Information Minister, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, on Monday participated as a keynote speaker at the "Media and Diplomacy - A Strategic Tool to Support Investment" forum, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on January 19 and 20, 2026.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the forum was held under the patronage of Jordan's Ministry of Government Communication and Lebanon's Ministry of Information, organized by the Leadership Center. It aimed to strengthen media and diplomatic cooperation between Arab and foreign countries. In his keynote address, Minister Morcos emphasized the crucial role of media in supporting development and investment and enhancing communication among peoples. He highlighted that the media's influence extends beyond technological advancements to significantly impact political, economic, and diplomatic decision-making.
Minister Morcos addressed the challenges contemporary media faces amid digital transformations, advocating for increased professionalism and development of media tools to accurately depict national and Arab issues. He underscored the value of complementary relationships and partnerships among Arab media institutions, noting that joint forums like Lebanon's hosting of the Arab Media Forum in Beirut are vital for exchanging expertise and bolstering regional media collaboration.
On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Morcos met with his Jordanian counterpart, Mohammad Al-Momani. They discussed developing media partnerships between Lebanon and Jordan, explored cooperation mechanisms, and prepared for joint initiatives to enhance the media's strategic role in supporting investment and intercultural dialogue. Minister Morcos's participation aligns with Lebanese efforts to bolster Lebanon's presence in regional and international forums, reaffirming Lebanese media's role in supporting national causes across various fields.
The event concluded with Jordanian partners presenting Minister Morcos with a commemorative shield to mark the occasion.
