Beirut: Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh, chaired the inaugural meeting of the General Authority for Museums at his office in the National Library in Sanayeh. The meeting was attended by Annemarie Afish, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Director General, members of the Authority appointed by the Council of Ministers, the Government Commissioner to the Authority and Director General of Antiquities, Engineer Sarkis Khoury, and architect Jad Tabet, the Minister's advisor.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dr. Salameh commenced the meeting with a welcoming address, expressing gratitude to those present for accepting their roles within the Authority. He emphasized the Authority's vital role in the future of the museum sector. The meeting also involved a review of the founding decree of the Authority to ensure all members were familiar with its responsibilities and duties.
