Beirut: The H´tel-Dieu de France Hospital in Achrafieh hosted an Awareness Day on the Risks of Smoking, under the patronage of Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine. The event aimed to highlight the dangers associated with smoking and promote public health initiatives to reduce smoking rates.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the day's events also included a meeting between Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh and EU Ambassador Sandra De Waele at the National Library in Sanayeh. The meeting was part of ongoing cultural exchanges and discussions aimed at strengthening ties between Lebanon and the European Union.
Later in the day, the Malcolm H. Kerr-Carnegie Middle East Center in Downtown Beirut hosted a roundtable discussion titled 'Lebanon's Uphill Road to Fiscal and Economic Reform.' Key speakers included Minister of Economy and Trade Dr. Amer Bsat and analyst Albert Kostanian, who discussed the economic challenges and potential reform strategies for Lebanon.
At 4:30 pm, Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Nora Bairakdarian held a press conference to announce the reopening of Camille Chamoun Sports City. The announcement was followed by a derby match between Nejmeh and Ansar at the Sports City Stadium in Beirut.
The day continued with the annual celebration by the 'Thimarouna' Learning Disabilities Association at the Municipal Theatre of Sawfar, sponsored by the Municipality of Sawfar. This event underscored the community's commitment to supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
In the evening, author Linda Yanni held a book signing for her work Ana Lasta Barie'a at the Seaside Arena in Beirut, as part of the Beirut Arab International Book Fair. Concurrently, former Minister Michel Pharaon hosted a reception at the ADEE Cultural Center in Ashrafieh to honor recent municipal and mukhtar election winners.
