Minister Shehadi Hosts Emirati Delegation to Discuss Digital Transformation and Innovation

Beirut: Minister of Displaced and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Kamal Shehadi, met with an Emirati delegation from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development at the Ministry of Technology in Beirut Digital District. The discussions focused on collaboration in strategy, government, and human capacity-building. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting explored leveraging the UAE's digital transformation experience to enhance government innovation in Lebanon. The goal is to build a flexible institutional environment rooted in transparency and efficiency, contributing to a competitive knowledge economy and fostering investment in Lebanon. Following the meeting, Minister Shehadi and the Emirati delegation toured Beirut Digital District with Executive Director Mohammed Rabah. They were briefed on services offered, particularly Ecole 42, which equips Lebanese youth with digital skills for the job market. Minister Shehadi later att ended sessions and workshops at the Grand Serail, focusing on government advancement and knowledge exchange. The aim is to create a shift in sectors impacting citizens directly. At the workshop's conclusion, Minister Shehadi expressed gratitude to the UAE and the delegation for their cooperation and support. He voiced hope for strengthened partnerships in the future. Shehadi also acknowledged the support of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam for establishing a ministry dedicated to technology and artificial intelligence, emphasizing its future agenda to support Lebanese youth and attract investments to Lebanon.
