Mohammad Ali’s Alabaster Mosque.. Cairo’s unsurpassed architectural marvel

Mohammad Ali Mosque, known as the Alabaster Mosque for the marble paneling on its interior and exterior walls, is one of Cairo's most famed monuments, built by order of Egypt's Mohammad Ali Pasha in the year 1830. Located in the Citadel of Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi, the Alabaster Mosque stands as an architectural marvel with its unsurpassed 84-meter tall minarets. The Mosque was built in Turkish style of multiple domes in varying sizes, with Islamic adornments flowing through its design. In the southwestern corner is the marble tomb of Mohammad Ali Pasha, lying in the midst of gold-gilded brass cabin. Source: Kuwait News Agency
