Ainata: The Ainata Snow Removal Center, operated by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, intervened last night to assist a motorist who became stranded in the Ainata-Al-Arz area after a rapid buildup of snow. The team succeeded in safely assisting the individual and ensuring his passage despite the harsh weather conditions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this intervention coincided with the first snowfall of the season over the highlands of Dannieh and Qornet al-Sawda (3,088 meters), extending toward Jurd al-Najass and Jurd Marbin, where light snow layers formed amid heavy rainfall and a sharp drop in temperatures.
The Ministry's bulldozers also reopened Ainata-Al-Arz road, which had been cut off for several hours due to accumulated snowfall. Crews cleared and widened the passageway, while renewing calls for motorists to exercise caution when driving through mountainous areas.
With the start of the winter season, the Ministry affirms that all snow removal centers are in a state of full readiness and on constant alert for immediate intervention whenever required, to safeguard citizens and maintain traffic flow across Lebanon's mountain roads.
