MoPWT Announces $8.5 Million Rehabilitation of Dahr El-Baidar-Chtaura Highway

Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport on Monday announced that it has completed all procedures required to award the long-awaited rehabilitation project for the international highway stretching from Hazmieh to Chtaura, with a budget of approximately $8.5 million. The ministry said the file is in its final stages and currently awaiting approval by the Court of Audit, with works expected to begin within a maximum of two weeks, pending completion of administrative procedures.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, responding to growing public concern over deteriorating conditions on the Dahr El-Baidar road, the ministry stressed that the project has been placed at the top of its priorities due to the highway's strategic importance as the main link between Beirut, the Bekaa and other Lebanese regions.

The project will include extensive maintenance and rehabilitation works aimed at improving road safety, traffic flow and the long-term sustainability of the road's infrastructure.
