Jounieh: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport on Wednesday clarified that "Jounieh road expansion project is under the responsibility of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) which is handling its technical, administrative, and financial preparation in line with due procedures.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ministry stated that its role is limited to follow-up and coordination, while expressing readiness to secure funding once the project file is finalized and meets all requirements.
Addressing media reports about the cancellation of a loan, the ministry stressed that this falls outside its mandate and relates to contractual arrangements between the CDR and the financing entity, noting that "the cancellation was requested by the lender, not the Lebanese state."
The MoPWT finally reaffirmed its commitment to supporting priority development projects and urged accuracy in reporting.
