Beirut: Information Minister, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, expressed his reservations about the draft law on the financial gap, stressing “the need to recover more of depositors’ rights and to work on revitalizing the banking sector,” and pointing to “the absence of clear and sufficient figures in the draft.”
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Dr. Morcos highlighted the importance of addressing the concerns surrounding the financial gap bill. He emphasized that any legislative measures should prioritize the protection of depositors’ rights while also ensuring the revitalization of the banking sector. The absence of clear figures in the draft law was noted as a significant issue, suggesting that more transparency and detailed information are necessary for its effective implementation.
