Morcos, UNESCO to Launch National Campaign Against Hate Speech on Thursday

Beirut: Minister of Information, Dr. Paul Morcos, and UNESCO will launch the National Campaign to Combat Hate Speech during a press conference to be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, at the Ministry of Information.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the campaign is a continuation of the previous national initiative against misinformation, which was conducted under the slogan: "Be Part of the Truth. Not Misinformation." The new campaign seeks to emphasize the importance of promoting media literacy and fostering responsible discourse. It aims to encourage respect and diversity while rejecting hate and incitement.

The initiative underscores the need for society to engage in respectful dialogue and to appreciate differences among individuals. By promoting media literacy, the campaign hopes to empower individuals to critically engage with information and contribute positively to public discourse.
