RABAT: Morocco's Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdul Latif Al-Mirawi, has expressed his pride in the robust collaboration between educational and academic institutions in the United Arab Emirates and Morocco. He highlighted the Khalifa Award for Education's significant role in elevating education on local, regional, and international scales. According to Emirates News Agency, Minister Al-Mirawi made these remarks during a reception for a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education at his office in Rabat. The delegation included notable figures such as Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, a member of the award's Board of Trustees, and Amal Al Afeefi, Secretary-General of the Award. The minister commended the award for its visionary initiatives that have contributed to educational progress and prosperity. Al Dhaheri underscored the award's impact since its inception in 2007, stating that it has enriched the educational landscape in the UAE, the Arab wor ld, and beyond by fostering a culture of excellence. Al-Afeefi further acknowledged Morocco's active participation and success in previous editions of the award and expressed gratitude for Minister Al-Mirawi's support in promoting the award's upcoming 18th session for 2024-2025. During the meeting, Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Award, presented the current session's fields, with a particular emphasis on the Higher Education category. This category honors outstanding contributions by university professors, academics, and researchers. Other fields include Educational Research, Educational Authorship for Children, and Innovative Educational Projects and Programs. Dr. Khalid Al Abri, a member of the award's Executive Committee, highlighted the broad range of categories available, encouraging educators, administrators, and researchers to participate and showcase their innovative initiatives. Hamid Ibrahim, another member of the Executive Committee, pointed out the award's focus on incorpor ating advanced technology and artificial intelligence in education, emphasizing AI's role in evaluating candidates' projects. The meeting concluded with the delegation presenting the Award shield to Minister Al-Mirawi in recognition of his support in advancing the award's mission.
