Beirut: MP Ghassan Skaff on Thursday met with Minister of Defense, Michel Menassa, and stressed the urgency of appointing a new Central Bank governor, describing it as "equally important, if not more, than the recent security and constitutional appointments."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Skaff, in a statement from his office following the meeting, emphasized the need for a new appointment to the Central Bank through consensus or a Cabinet vote. He urged the Council of Ministers to make a decision and allow the Constitution to guide the process. Skaff highlighted the importance of demonstrating to the world that the nation is democratic, ready to transition from promises to implementation, and moving from a failed system to one that is law-governed.
