Beirut: Justice Minister, Adel Nassar, on Monday said diplomacy remains the most appropriate way to address the current crisis and avoid further escalation, stressing that negotiations do not mean yielding to Israeli conditions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in an interview with Al Arabiya, Nassar condemned Israeli strikes on residential neighborhoods, buildings, and heritage sites, saying they undermine ongoing negotiations. He also accused Hezbollah of weakening the state's ability to negotiate from a position of strength and called on the group to support state institutions.
Nassar argued that Hezbollah's actions have drawn Lebanon into conflicts not chosen by its people, warning that the group's weapons have become a pretext for intensified military operations against Lebanon.
Nassar emphasized the need to strengthen state institutions and ensure that security and military decisions remain exclusively in the hands of legitimate authorities to safeguard Lebanon's sovereignty and stability.
