KUWAIT CITY: The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) has announced the 24th edition of its International Music Festival, set to begin on November 17. The festival will feature an honoring ceremony for the esteemed singer Mohammad Al-Bloushi and will run until November 22. According to Kuwait News Agency, Musaad Al-Zamil, the NCCAL Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector and head of the festival, disclosed at a press conference that the opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. The ceremony, scheduled at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, will include performances of Al-Bloushi's most popular songs, directed by Maestro Dr. Mohammad Al-Baijan alongside other notable artists. Al-Zamil highlighted that Al-Bloushi, a graduate of the Higher Institute Of Musical Art, is being honored for his substantial contributions to the music industry. The opening ceremony will als o celebrate musicians from Kuwait, Egypt, and Bahrain for their roles in advancing the music field. The festival's second evening will feature Omani musician Mariam Al-Manjia performing eastern and western music during the "cello night" event, accompanied by a seminar on Al-Bloushi's impact in the singing world. The third night will host a dinner ceremony for participants and a discussion on local and international Arabic music. The fourth night will showcase Greek music on the clarinet, while the fifth night will present an eastern music performance led by Maestro Dr. Ayoub Khodher. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase on the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center's website, as stated by Al-Zamil.
