RAMALLAH: The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has announced the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, a prominent national leader and head of the political bureau of Hamas, in a statement that underscores the ongoing tensions and violence in the region. The Committee expressed its condolences to Sinwar's family and the leadership of Hamas, while reaffirming the need for Palestinian unity against Israeli actions. According to Maan News Agency, the PLO's Executive Committee condemned what it described as brutal massacres and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation in Palestine and Lebanon. The statement criticized the far-right Israeli government for its perceived disregard of international legitimacy resolutions and emphasized the importance of unifying Palestinian ranks within the PLO framework. The organization reiterated its commitment to confronting actions that threaten the Palestinian national cause and emphasized the goal of establishing a Palestinian state based on the 196 7 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
