Patriarch Al-Rahi Meets Health Professions Union and Austrian Ambassador

Beirut: Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, held meetings on Thursday with representatives from Lebanon's Health Professions Union and the Austrian Ambassador to Lebanon, focusing on the country's healthcare challenges and interfaith dialogue. The Health Professions Union delegation, led by Dr. Youssef Bakhash, chief of Beirut's Medical Syndicate, discussed the ongoing healthcare crisis in Lebanon and the union's initiatives to unify various medical professions.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Patriarch al-Rahi commended the union's initiative, emphasizing the need for urgent reforms to improve the nation's healthcare system. He expressed his support for the efforts being made to bring together different medical professionals under a unified framework, which he believes is essential for addressing the healthcare issues faced by Lebanon.

Later in the day, Patriarch al-Rahi met with Austrian Ambassador Franziska Honsowitz-Friessnigg. The discussions with the ambassador highlighted Lebanon's significant role in promoting interfaith dialogue. Ambassador Honsowitz-Friessnigg underscored the importance of dialogue, a common value shared by both Lebanon and Austria, as a means to achieve peace and stability. She advocated for strengthening dialogue at all levels, including among individuals, communities, and nations, to develop enduring solutions to conflicts.
