Baabda: President Joseph Aoun met Wednesday at Baabda Palace with the Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Ephrem II, who hoped for a swift government formation. 'We came here to support the President of the Republic,' said the Patriarch following the meeting.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Patriarch Ephrem II expressed optimism about the future governance of the country, emphasizing the necessity for rapid government formation. He highlighted that economic reform should be one of the primary objectives of the new government once established.
In addition to his meeting with the Patriarch, President Aoun also had discussions with Jean-Christophe Carret, the World Bank Country Director for the Middle East Department. This meeting signifies ongoing international attention and involvement in Lebanon's economic and political affairs.
