RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) has Wednesday issued a statement showing a decline in registered exports and imports of goods in May, 2024, compared to May, 2023. Exports decreased in May, 2024 by 12% compared to May, 2023 and reached USD 125.9 Million. Exports to Israel decreased in May, 2024 by 10% compared to May, 2023 and it represented 91% of total exports in May, 2024. At the same time, exports to other countries decreased by 28% during the same period compared to May, 2023. Imports decreased in May, 2024 by 24% compared to May, 2023 and reached USD 545.1 Million. Imports from Israel decreased by 18% in May, 2024 compared to May, 2023 and it represented 59% of total imports in May, 2024. At the same time, imports from other countries decreased by 32% compared to May, 2023. The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed a decrease in trade deficit by 27% in May, 2024 compared to May, 2023 and reached USD 419.2 Million.
