Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Friday received European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Minister of Social Affairs, Hanin Al-Sayed, and the Head of the Disaster Risk Management Unit at the Grand Searil, Zahi Shahin. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Lebanon and the European Union in relief and emergency response.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the discussion reportedly touched on the humanitarian situation in Lebanon and ways to enhance cooperation between Lebanon and the European Union in the fields of relief and emergency response, in light of the ongoing Israeli attacks and their humanitarian repercussions.
Lahbib affirmed the European Union’s continued support for Lebanon, particularly in the field of humanitarian aid, emphasizing the importance of ongoing coordination with the relevant Lebanese authorities.
For his part, Premier Salam thanked the European Union for its continued support for Lebanon, praised the existing coordination with the relevant authorities, and underscored the importance of strengthening international support for humanitarian response and assisting the Lebanese state in facing current challenges.
