Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Monday received Jonathan Dagher, Head of the Middle East Desk at Reporters Without Borders (RSF), accompanied by RSF Lebanon correspondent, Elissar Kobeissy. The meeting focused on the media law and the state of media liberties in Lebanon.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions aimed to address the current challenges facing the media landscape in Lebanon. The dialogue included topics related to the legislative framework governing media operations and the freedoms available to journalists within the country.
Prime Minister Salam emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between regulatory measures and ensuring the freedom of the press. Jonathan Dagher commended the efforts of the Lebanese government in addressing these issues and highlighted the role of RSF in supporting media freedom in the region.
