Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam on Monday engaged in a significant dialogue with a delegation from the American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL). The delegation was led by ATFL President, Ambassador Edward Gabriel, and attended by U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa. Also present were the Group's Senior Policy Advisor Dr. Paul Salem and several board members.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting was also attended by key Lebanese figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raggi, and Director of Political and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ibrahim Assaf. The discussions focused on the current situation in Lebanon and the broader region, emphasizing the need for stability and the reinforcement of state institutions.
Prime Minister Salam articulated the government's dual-track policy aimed at reform and the restoration of the state's authority across its entire territory. This strategy is seen as critical in addressing the nation's challenges and fostering a more robust governance structure.
Furthermore, the meeting explored avenues to bolster Lebanese-American relations, particularly in the economic and investment domains. Discussions highlighted the potential for enhanced public-private partnerships in key sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, and energy projects, aiming to stimulate economic growth and development in Lebanon.
