Beirut: Caretaker Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, engaged in discussions with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, and Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Imran Riza, focusing on Lebanon's stability and recovery amidst current challenges.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting with the UN officials aimed at addressing local and regional developments. The conversation revolved around efforts to stabilize Lebanon and facilitate its recovery process.
Following the UN meeting, Salam had a session with U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, who conveyed her congratulations on the formation of a new government. Johnson expressed optimism about the government's potential to lead Lebanon toward a promising future, emphasizing the competence and vision of its members.
Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jesºs Santos Aguado, also visited the Prime Minister, expressing Spain's backing for Lebanon's new government. Aguado discussed ongoing Spanish-Lebanese projects, which include around 20 development initiatives worth approximately 22 million pounds. He highlighted Spain's role in UNIFIL and mentioned plans to further support the Lebanese Army and security forces.
Additionally, Salam met with German Ambassador Kurt Georg St¶ckl-Stillfried, who offered his congratulations and reviewed political developments and bilateral relations between Germany and Lebanon.
Jordanian Ambassador, Walid Hadid, reaffirmed Jordan's support for Lebanon, expressing hopes for Lebanon's return to stability and prosperity. Hadid stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral relations and Lebanon's role as a key player in the region.
