Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and First Lady Nehmat Aoun returned to Beirut today after representing Lebanon at the United Nations General Assembly and the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women. They delivered Lebanon's speech at both events.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Youssef Rajji and members of the accompanying delegation also returned to Beirut on Saturday. During the General Assembly, President Aoun engaged in a series of meetings with several heads of state, heads of participating delegations, and UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres.
President Aoun also had discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and several members of the American Congress. Additionally, he met with members of the Lebanese community residing in various US states.
