President Aoun Calls for Justice and Human Rights on Armenian Genocide Anniversary

Beirut: On the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Thursday emphasized that the commemoration was not merely a remembrance of a painful historical event, but a reaffirmation of the fundamental values of justice, human rights, and human dignity. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun stated that the anniversary serves as a reminder to the world of the importance of standing against all forms of violence, extremism, and exclusion. He reiterated Lebanon's unwavering solidarity with the Armenian people in their peaceful struggle to uphold these principles. President Aoun also praised the contributions of Lebanese citizens of Armenian descent, highlighting their longstanding and constructive role in Lebanon's political, economic, cultural, and artistic life. He acknowledged their integral part in Lebanon's diverse and richly woven identity. Concluding his statement, the President expressed his hope that the victims of the Armenian Genocide, along with all victims of injustice and aggression around the world, may rest in peace. He also wished for the protection of Lebanon and its people from all harm.
