New york: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, has condemned Israel's continued violations of the cessation of hostilities agreement, following a recent incident in Bint Jbeil. The President's remarks come in the wake of what he described as a new massacre carried out by Israel, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including three children.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun, currently in New York to discuss peace and human rights issues, criticized Israel for its ongoing breaches of international resolutions. He highlighted the importance of the cessation of hostilities agreement, emphasizing that Israel's actions stand in stark contrast to the goals of peace discussions held at the United Nations.
President Aoun urged the international community, particularly the leaders gathered at the United Nations, to take decisive action to halt these violations. He called upon nations supporting the November 27, 2024 declaration to pressure Israel to withdraw from Lebanese territory and adhere to the agreement.
"There is no peace over the blood of our children," President Aoun stated, reinforcing his call for immediate and effective measures to ensure compliance with international resolutions.
