Beirut: President Joseph Aoun has received an invitation from the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to visit Qatar. The invitation was delivered by Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, during a meeting at Baabda Palace.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Emir Tamim expressed his congratulations to President Aoun on his election as President of Lebanon. In his letter, he wished President Aoun health and success, expressing hope that his presidency will lead to a period of security, stability, and prosperity for Lebanon. The letter also mentioned that the timing of President Aoun's visit will be arranged through diplomatic channels.
After the meeting, the Qatari Ambassador emphasized Qatar's ongoing support for the Lebanese army, with plans extending into 2025. He highlighted Qatar's historical role in supporting Lebanon across various fields including political, economic, and military sectors.
