Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, met Wednesday at Baabda Palace with World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, Ousmane Dione, to whom he stressed Lebanon's determination to enact the necessary reforms.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun emphasized Lebanon's commitment to initiating reforms under his inauguration speech, highlighting that preparing the needed legislative texts is among the new government's primary objectives. In response, Dione assured that the World Bank will support Lebanon on its path to reconstruction and development.
In a separate meeting, Aoun received Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Muhammad Noor Rahman Sheikh, who delivered a letter from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. In the letter, President Murmu expressed her anticipation of strengthening the bilateral relations between India and Lebanon.
