Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, emphasized the critical situation unfolding on Lebanon's eastern and northeastern borders, declaring it unacceptable and unsustainable. He announced that he has issued directives for the Lebanese Army to actively respond to any sources of fire in these regions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also engaged in a conversation with Lebanon's Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, who is attending a conference in Brussels. The president urged the minister to communicate with the Syrian delegation at the "Ninth Conference in Support of Syria's Future." Aoun's instructions were to address the cross-border issue promptly, aiming to preserve the sovereignty of both Lebanon and Syria while preventing further escalation.
These remarks were made during President Aoun's meeting at Baabda Palace with a delegation from the Syriac League, headed by Habib Afram. The delegation informed the President about the current challenges faced by the League and extended their full support for his initiatives and objectives.
