President Aoun Participates in Annual Mass at Our Lady of the Hill in Deir al-Qamar

Deir al-qamar: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, participated this morning in the Holy Mass at Our Lady of the Hill (Saydet El Talle) Church in Deir al-Qamar, marking the feast of Our Lady.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the Mass was attended by the Papal Ambassador to Lebanon, Paolo Borgia, along with MPs Marwan Hamadeh, George Adwan, Farid al-Bustani, Camille Chamoun, Ghassan Atallah, and Najat Aoun. Former Ministers Naji al-Bustani and Ghada Shreim, as well as several security and judicial officials and civil dignitaries, were also present.

Upon his arrival at the Saydet El Talle neighborhood, President Aoun was welcomed by the Superior General of the Maronite Mariamite Order, Abbot Edmond Rizk, Father Joseph Abi Aoun, the Papal Nuncio, and the parish priests.

President Aoun then visited Deir el-Qamar Square, where Lebanese expatriates from America and Europe had gathered. They greeted the President and expressed their wishes for Lebanon's success and prosperity.

During a brief pause in the monastery's historic salon, President Aoun listened to explanations from Father Abi Aoun about the monastery's history. He later inscribed a message in the monastery's golden register, highlighting the site's historical and religious significance.

In his message, President Aoun expressed a prayer for the Virgin Mary to protect Lebanon and its people, seeking her intercession for the nation's unity and continued role as a beacon of civilization and coexistence in the region.
