President Aoun Praises Lebanon’s State Security on 41st Anniversary

Nabatieh:Lebanon President Joseph Aoun has extended his congratulations to the State Security Directorate on its 41st anniversary, acknowledging its significant role in maintaining stability, safeguarding public funds, and combating corruption.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Aoun expressed his appreciation to State Security Director General Maj. Gen. Edgar Lawandos, as well as the officers and personnel of the agency. He noted that over the past two years, State Security has successfully regained its institutional role and effectiveness.

Aoun highlighted the agency's efforts in combating corruption, uncovering illicit networks, and addressing violations that threaten public funds and citizens' rights. He emphasized that State Security's contributions are essential to building a state governed by law and institutions.

The President also honored the memory of State Security personnel who lost their lives during the Israeli attack on the agency's headquarters in Nabatieh while fulfilling their national duties.

In his concluding remarks, Aoun affirmed that the Lebanese state remains committed to supporting the agency and enhancing its capabilities, in concert with the country's military and security institutions, to protect Lebanon, its citizens, and residents.
